ALMENDRAS LLOPIS WINS THE PRESTIGIOUS AEFA 2016 AWARD

The twenty-first edition of the annual awards granted by AEFA (Family Business Association of Alicante) was held on the 5th of October. On this year, the event took place in the Río de Ibi Theatre in order to “bring over the association to the province” according to Francisco Gómez, the association’s president.

One of the three awards granted by the association, the Bankia award, was given to Almendras Llopis for being a family business, for its presence in the agri-food sector and its collaboration and support to AEFA. The commercial director of the Alicante, Murcia and Baleares Territorial Management of Bankia, Jesús Cecilia, has declared that “supporting our local entrepreneurs is to contribute to the development of our province. For this reason, it is important for us to give this award to a company that is loyal to its family origins and that has bet on the generation of added value in its project”.

The other awarded companies were Neoflex (Diputación Award) and Plásticos Erum (Generalitat Award). The list of winners of the event was completed with the presentation of the Manuel Peláez Castillo Honour Award, that was granted to the general director of the Family Business Institute, Juan Corona.

The main objective of these awards, granted on an annual basis, is to recognise the professional career, innovation capacity and efficiency in the management of the family businesses in the province, as well as to give value to the role these companies play as economic motors of Alicante. The development of the awards counts on the support of the Generalitat, the Government of Alicante and Bankia.
